Cold related disease kills three lives in Kurigram.

ABDUL WAHED:

Cold related disease killed three persons including two children in Kurigram Sadar Hospital in deference of five hours and some children are taking treatment claiming cold related disease here.

The deceased were identified as Mahin, 1, son of Khairul Hossen of Kaley village under Sadar upazila, Murad, ten months, son of Ruhul Amin of Jamuna village under Ulipur upazila and Panchami Rani, 70, wife of late Ramesh Chandra of Baidyar Bazzar village under Rajarhat upazila of the district.

According to Kurigram Sadar Hospital sources, some disease including Pneumonia, Asma, Diarrhoea and Neonatal Sepsis are being most active causing cold wave and dense fog. Most of children and old men are being affected with the disease in the district. Victims Mahin and Murad died in Neonatal Sepsis disease at about 8.40 pm on January 25 and Panchami Rani died in CVD (cardiac) disease at about 1.25 am on January 26 in the hospital.

24 children are taking treatment in Child Ward and 24 children and one old man in Diarrhoea Ward in the hospital till today (January 26).

Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of the hospital Dr. Nazrul Islam told that Neonatal Sepsis is mainly a blood related disease. The two children died in Neonatal Sepsis.
